What an action-packed week of activities celebrating our love of books and stories.

A highlight, of course, was World Book Day with the opportunity  to dress up as our favourite book character. The Cat in the Hat, Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, The BFG, The Gruffalo, Horrid Henry, Cruella de Vil and Snow White all featured among our  colourful costumes. Spotting Where's Wally was a great game too!

The week also included visits to Waterstones bookshop and time spend browsing in the library. Our Bedtime Story event with hot chocolate and cookies proved as popular as ever!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to such a great week! The children at St Matthew's love reading - we encourage everyone (children and adults too!) to keep on reading at home as well as at school and enjoying a great range of fiction and non-fiction texts.
