Welcome from the Headteacher

St Matthew’s is a successful and happy  Church of England primary school with excellent facilities and spacious grounds, close to Redhill town centre and transport links.

Our committed and highly skilled staff nurture the full potential of every child, developing happy, confident and independent learners. We are proud of our rich and exciting curriculum which ensures personal and academic progress.

Our school instills strong values and promotes good behaviour in every pupil.

St. Matthew's is a Church of England (Voluntary Aided) co-educational primary school, providing 420 full-time places for pupils aged 5-11 years and 80 part-time nursery places for pupils aged 3+ to 5 years. In addition there is an 14 place special needs support centre, which has facilities for children (aged 7-11) with autism.

The school is housed in excellent modern buildings and occupies an extensive and attractive site close to the centre of Redhill. The nursery is a self-contained unit within the school. The main school has classrooms for both whole-class and small-group teaching, library, hall equipped for gymnastics, dining area and kitchen.  The grounds consist of playing fields and hard surface play areas providing facilities for a range of physical education and recreational activities. There is also an environmental study and gardening area. The school is well adapted to provide full access for physically disabled pupils.

As a church school we hope to build the daily life of our school on the foundations of the Christian Faith and this is supported by our strong connection with St. Matthew's Church and Parish.

Although we are a Church of England school, we welcome children from other Christian denominations and from other world faiths.

Please contact us to make an appointment to visit the school or simply attend one of our school open mornings.

We look forward to meeting you.

Yours sincerely
