Year 6 Leavers Service - Southwark Cathedral

Friday 20th June, we took our Year 6’s to London for their Leaver’s Service at Southwark Cathedral where they joined other schools from the Diocese to bring a close to their primary school years.  It was a lively service this year with contributions of song and dance from a selection of primary schools as well as the traditional readings, prayers and hymns.  We noted how well behaved all our children were in the cathedral showing proper respect for their surroundings and others around them.  After the service we went for a walk along the Thames taking in some more famous sites that we had discussed during our study of “The London Eye Mystery” – H.M.S. Belfast,  Tower of London, Tower Bridge, the Gherkin and County Hall.  As it was a gorgeous day we were able to picnic, chill out and chat.  A great day out once again for both children and teaching staff to add to our memories.
