Year 4 Science Day

It was all systems go when Year 4 blasted in to space to celebrate Science Day this week.

Firstly, Year 4 learnt about Astronaut Major Tim Peake and his mission in to space. We worked in teams to think of questions to ask him in an interview scenario and then improvised the answers.

After that, we investigated how astronauts in space deal with delicate jobs. We made predictions about how our dexterity would be affected by wearing oven gloves or socks on our hands, as we tried to complete everyday tasks such as writing our name and tying a shoelace.

Finally, we explored food in space and how it was adapted for travel. We learnt about our taste buds and experimented with different tastes.
