Year 3 and the Amazing Angles

Year 3 have been  learning about angles in a very active way!

They began the week by identifying right angles in shapes.  The children used the learn pads to spot right angles within our school environment.  They took photos of these as well as annotated them and used them to sort the shapes according to the number of right angles.

Following on from this, the children explored the other types of angles within the angle family and used polydron to make 3D shapes and labelled the angles within these shapes.

To conclude the week we looked at angles being a property of turn.  The children wrote instructions using their maths vocabulary and then went outside to check their partners understanding by reading them the route and watched them follow the exact instructions.
