The Sleepy Shepherd

What a magical morning we enjoyed at St Matthew's Church as children in Reception Class, Year 1 and Year 2 reminded us of the story of the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem through their 'Sleepy Shepherd' nativity.

The children performed confidently and sang heartily, with children from Year 6 reading from the Bible to support the retelling.

The church was packed with an appreciative audience of parents, friends and family, with everyone joining the children to sing traditional carols. The school choir also led us singing Silent Night and Midnight. Later that morning, children from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 arrived at the church to conclude our celebrations.

We thank the staff, children and their families for making the nativity a huge success.

We wish everyone in the St Matthew's family a restful and Merry Christmas, and look forward to seeing you all in the new year.
