St Matthew's School Nativity Play 2015

What an amazing morning we enjoyed at St Matthew's Church as children in Reception Class, Year 1 and Year 2 performed a wonderful traditional nativity play, reminding us of the story of the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem 2000 years ago. The children - angels, shepherds, wise men, innkeepers and narrators, not forgetting Mary and Joseph - were word-perfect with their lines and sang heartily and tunefully. Children from Year 6 eloquently and confidently read well-known readings from the Bible  "Unto us a Child is born, to us a Son is given ..." (Isaiah 9) "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God ..." (John 1)

The church was packed with an appreciative audience of parents and other family and friends of our school, with everyone joining the children to sing traditional carols. Father Andrew concluded our nativity carol service with a special Christmas blessing and an invitation to come to the Christmas Services at St Matthew's Church over the festive period.
