Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me

During the week leading up to Armistice Day / Remembrance Sunday the children at St Matthew's School enjoyed a range of special activities linked to the centenary commemorations of the end of the first world war. Please, when you're next in school or passing along Linkfield Lane, take some time to look at the wonderful “peace installations” using the symbol of the dove and also the excellent poignant and emotive writing produced by the children. On Wednesday morning children and adults met together for a special time of reflection. Thank you to Year 6 pupils who read their own outstanding, thought-provoking poems . We were delighted that Shaun Burns, Religious Education Advisor for the diocese of Southwark, was able to join us for the morning. During the week the children also had the opportunity to visit the “Think Space” activity led by our friends from Sparkfish.
