Inspired to be an author!

What a wonderful start to the new academic year here at St Matthew’s School! One of our favourite places to visit - during the holidays and at weekends as well as in term time – is Redhill Library where we are always given a warm welcome by the library staff.

Children in Years 4, 5 and 6 thoroughly enjoyed their visits to the Redhill library (w/b 7th September) to listen to the acclaimed children’s author Joffre White talk about his books. He is most well-known for his series of ‘Frog’ books and he told the children about his life as an author. He was very inspiring and the children all came back to school wanting to be writers themselves. Maybe in a few years’ time some of St Matthew’s pupils will be best-selling, prize-winning  authors!
