Geography at Gatton

Year 3 enjoyed a wonderful day at Gatton Park taking part in exciting and engaging learning activities.

Following an invigorating walk from school to Gatton Park, the children began the day's activities by exploring different areas of the park and taking in the surrounding environment, using their senses to describe the woodland area.  The children were amazed at what the forest had to offer; one child said "I never knew nature could be so exciting!"  Having used a map to navigate themselves through the forest  the children returned to the classroom and, using the data they had collected, produced their own maps in many different forms.

To conclude the day the children worked effectively as a team to complete an orienteering course .  It was a great day for all the children and staff involved.  The children were all excellent ambassadors for our school!
